Service

Throughout the year, the Clemson SIAs devote many hours to helping the community. In the past, we have partnered with the multicultural greek council for a highway clean up, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) to volunteer at Helping Hands of Clemson, and have volunteered at the Brookfield Senior Living Center.

Our Hermanas also actively participate in volunteering on campus with events such as the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service and Experience Clemson.

In the Spring of 2019, Hermanas participated in the Dance Marathon hosted by Clemson Miracle.

Th purpose of this organization is to help sick and injured kids in our local community. Together we raised funds and awareness through the Miracle Network Dance Marathon for our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Prisma Health - Upstate, which treats children from our area and provides life-saving care to sick and injured kids in need. In 2019 we raised over $230k #ForTheKids !!!

National

Every year, Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc. hosts a national day of service (NDOS) to show our constant support for the community. This past year, the Clemson Colony traveled to the Beta Alpa Chapter in Savannah, Georgia to support the local YMCA. Hermanas hosted a Zumba workout to raise money for youth after school programs.
